Hi Guys,
I'm having this problem with the file size of photoshop png files. I choose the dimensions that should result in a 2.2mb size (as show in the picture below).
But when the file is save the accually size is increased dramatically to 43mb (as show in the picture below)
Do you guys have any tips in what's going on with the save options of photoshop?

Hi. The Image Size value almost never is the same as the size of the final file even with PSD files because it's affected by multiple factors like layers used, options selected when you save it, etc.
From the official help: "Another factor that affects file size is file format. Because of the varying compression methods used by GIF, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF file formats, file sizes can vary considerably for the same pixel dimensions. Similarly, color bit-depth and the number of layers and channels in an image affect file size."

Hi marliton. Thks for the head up about the multiple factors.
Unfortunately, ins't the case. I always use the parameters that I'm using in this file (png/8bits/827x945px/150dpi/sRGB color profile/1 layer), but never had this kind of result. In fact, this file was with 1.6mb initially (save 2 months ago). I did it just a update in the artwork without any additional changes to the parameters and the size increased this much.
I try a similar image editor using the same parameters to comparation, and in this new software the file size was not compromise as had in photoshop.
I was thinking that maybe could be something related with some performance issues in the last photoshop updates. It makes sense?

Hi
I tried to reproduce yout process and I save a 66 Ko PSd file and a 7 Ko PNG file (with a blank image of course lighter but not in the same proportions). So something is going wrong. Did you obtain the PNG by saving or exporting? You should try export as i,stead of saving to check if the same problem occurs and let us know.
Best
Didier

Hi, @LucianoNunes. Can you share the file? We can test it and figure out if it's a local issue or if it's an issue related to the specific file.
