Question

File saving Larger than it should

I am trying to save my files using Export > Export as JPG and I am trying to make the image as small as possible. After I save the file to a folder it almost doubles in size.

The screenshot is truncated, however, was the image created with the new AI Generative features?

Comments- I notice that the file size pixel Dimensions shown in the Export-As dialog (is that Photoshop?) is not the same as the resulting file. Are you comparing the 'correct' image?

IIRC With very small detailed JPG images it has been known for file size on disc to increase with each new save to JPG. The Jpg compression artifacts become a source of more 'details' to increase file size (on disk).

The screenshort that shows the export as dialog is Photoshop. The other screenshot is the image that has been exported just on my desktop. When I export as a .jpg it will show the file size as 15k and then when I open the image the file size has increased to 29k. I cant figure out why the size is increasing once its saved.

But it happens in illustrator as well. Anytime I try to export an image in either illustrator or photoshop it increases size once its saved.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
