Hello,

I have a circle path that I am attmepting to fill (Script: Place along Path), with a suit of diamonds, but it will only fill the inside of the circle, effectively cutting the diamond in half.

My path operations is already set to "combine" and I've run out of troublshooting options. I have attached an image for referenec. Thank you so much!

Hello,

Could you be slightly more specific? You know how these things go, you are using Photoshop, everything works fine, until it doesn't.

What happens when you use normal blend mode rather than behind?

Hi!

How did you draw your path? and Are you sure that it is a closed path?

Sometimes, in using the Pen Tool, the direction that you draw your path has a bearing on how the path is filled. Did you use the Pen Tool?

Also, thanks for the screenshot--is the pattern supposed to straddle the path so that it is on both sides?

I created a circle shape and I converted it into a path, using the pen tool results in the same issue unforuntely. I have not tried going clockwise however, let me attempt that now.

Yes I would like the pattern to straddle the line (visible on both sides). If it has to be on the inside or outside of the line that is fine as well I just need the whole diamond to show up. Thank you.

I tried the path counter clockwise and it did the same effect.

Could you please post a meaningful screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Paths, Options Bar, …) visible?

Did you apply the Path as a Vector Mask to the Layer by any chance?

Is a Selection still active or could a Layer further up be covering the outsides of the diamonds?

Because it works fine here.

I don’t have permission to download it but I think it would likely not make a difference.

Could you try again?

Make sure there is no active Selection (cmd-D), create a new blank Layer, select the Path and apply the Scripted Fill?

Hello!

I know this is super late but I finally figured out the issue as I was having the same one! Here's my work around.

1. Make sure that your shape tool is set to Path in the drop down menu

FuriousGeorge_0-1631735266010.png

2. Then you are going to select Combine for the shape intersection type

FuriousGeorge_1-1631735301723.png

3. You'll notice in the paths window that the color of the path will be white or grey depending on which area is being "masked" I don't know why it does this but this works for me. When you switch from Combined Shapes to Subtract, the colors will swap.

4. While the shape tool is active the path will be selected on your new layer, right click and select fill path to bring up the dialogue.

5. Run the dialogue once however you would like it to be, then switch the shape intersection and run it again without changing any settings or moving anything.

1st Pass "Subtract From Shape"

2nd Pass "Combine Shapes"

Also make sure to uncheck and re-check the box each time you run the fill. It shows as selected but resets for no apparent reason.

I hope this helped!

Bumped into this same issue and logged in just to give a solution:

Don't use Fill from the right-click menu, use the Fill under Edit->Fill (shift F5).
The right-click one will only do one side, the one from Edit will do both.
