When using the "Fill Tool" and having the Tolerance set to 255 and opacity set to 100%, why am I get a white area between my original line and the fill area? I can overcome this in other software programs, but you would think this would be an easy thing to do in PS.

A dozen-and-a-half people have viewed this inquiry and moved on, probably because there is no Tolerance setting in the Edit > Fill command.

Please post the image and the Layers panel so we can see what you mean. Also let us know whether Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color solves the problem.

I wonder if the OP means the Paint Bucket.

So do I. Also wonder whether he made a feathered selection, rather than zero, for the color he wants added  .
