Adobe Photoshop 2018 CC. I use altgr+del button-command to place a large picture into a  a small frame. When I try to fill the masked layer, the following message is recieved: "It can't be filled because of antecedent (history under) condition does not contains proper layer". My programme and computer is new, I do the whole action-process according to studied. In my case any button combination works to give command: alt+ altgr+del, altgr+backspace and others too.

please help

As you can see the last picture: i try to fill layer mask ( put the picture inside the frame ) by alt+del function.

On my computer: left to space is al, right to space is altgr (is more powerfull)

Does shift-delete raise the Fill dialog?

Please excuse the delay.

What do you mean by »altgr« – »ctrl«, »shift«, …?

Are you trying to fill the Layer or the Layer Mask?

Please post meaningful screenshots.

It seems you are trying to fill with »Contents: History« for a Layer that has no corresponding History state.
