Finder using 'PS' symbol to move files from card to folder on Mac

Has anyone had the finder start using a 'PS' symbol when moving files via the finder in a drag and drop method?  This just started happening on my computer and always says the copying of files from a card to a hard drive say it's going to take a very long time.  Like 10 hours.  This must be a simple setting that I messed up.

Ventura 13.6.7

PS 25.9.1

OK, that's really odd. File/folder permissions?

And the standard advice: reset preferences. Corrupt preferences can cause the weirdest symptoms.

I did recently have to 'tell' my mac to stop opening arw raw files with preview and instead to through adobe products.  Could that be it?

Why not simply copy over? Why drag and drop?

by copy over do you mean copy/paste?  it does the same thing and takes the same amount of time.  This just started happening.

It sounds like the file type of the files on your card have been associated with Photoshop. When a file type is associated with an application, double-clicking the file will open it in that application.
