First file save adds a -1 to the filename.

HI,

Since the latest updgrade to 21.1.3 when I do the first file save in Photoshop it adds a -1 to the filename.  An example looks like filename-1.psd when before it saved as filename.psd.  My flow is to save the file as soon as I'm done with camera raw and the image open in Photoshop.  I've looked in the preferences and can't find any settings to change this.  I use Bridge to batch rename my files before opening them in Photoshop but have never had this problem before.  I can't find any answers searching the web.

Thank you,

Henry

Okay, so if you rename the file like that, you're saying that when you save the image in PS, it comes out HS_Margi001-1? If so, how are you saving it: save as, export, save for web, etc?

I will go File , Save.  The Save As window opens, with the image name in gthe File name box.  It auto populates the name, example HS_Margi001-1.psd.  Here is an actual image I am working on now.   I've not done any editing to it other than in Camera Raw. I always go to File , Save to make sure it is saved.   Capture2.PNG

I think part of this issue is I am making the image a smart object coming out of camera raw.  When I turn this off and do a save it saves the file without the -1.  Odd, this worked before the latest update.
