Fit to Screen in Navigator

I've been using Photoshop for about 15 years and I'm not sure if it's the Mandela Effect but in previous versions I distinctly remember that the mountain icons in the navigator window to zoom in and out in discrete steps would stop to fit screen. For example, it would do something like 33.33%, 50%, 66.66%, Fit to Screen (it would show whatever weird percentage it is), 100%, and so on. I'm using Photoshop Beta, and it just goes 33.33%, 50%, 66.66%, 100%. I understand I can press CTRL+0 or hold Z and click Fit to Screen, but I would much prefer the navigator stopping at fit screen.

 

Was this ever a thing, and if so, how can I enable it?

    Not that I recall,

    as @gener7 has explained the mountain buttons move between incremental zoom levels to retain sharpness, looks like you'll need to continue using the keyboard to set the pic to "fit screen". It's not advisable, really, though as the image loses its definition at "betweeen" the incremental zoom levels.

      You are getting the incremental zoom levels, which include 100%, 66.7, 50, 33.3, and so forth when using the "mountains". You get an accurately sharp view of your image using those levels and it's all the "mountains" offer. Anything in between will be soft, but you use the slider for the in between values. Clicking on the mountains does not get you that Fit to screen zoom value. I checked using PS 2022 and 2023 and there are no options to change that behavior using the navigator.
