Hi Erin.  Which one is you in the photograph?

Assuming you are the lady center image, then nowadays it is hard to ignore the Ai Generative Fill tools.  Select the hair you wish to fix, and in the Contextual Task Bar (You can open from the bottom of the Window menu) type what you would like to happen.  I simply used 'Long brown hair' and got three options, this being the best.

Thank you! It looks better the way you did it. I'd like to try on a different photo... Does this need to be done on the computer rather than in the app on phone?

Photoshop is not available on phones. The iPad version is missing a lot of features, so if you have Photoshop for desktop, try that first.

It would be an easy fix doing it manually, so you could probably do that with the iPad (IOS) Photoshop version.  I simply kept sampling the colours and painted out the wind swpet hair.  To make it look more realistic, I painted in some additional hair strands.

image.png

Individual hair strands can be painted in with the brush tool with Size Jitter set to Fade.  (This is for Erin's benefit — Janes know how to do this stuff 🙂 ).  I used a 1 pixel, fully hard, brush with spacing set to 5%.  The brush spacing affects the length of the fade.

I sometimes have reduce the layer opacity to make the hairs blend in better, and sometimes add a layer mask and soften the start of the hair by masking it with a fully soft black brush.

Aaron Blaise has the best hair brush sets I know of, and I see he has a sale on right now. This set is currently selling for $1 !!
