Flatten image before or after adjustments

Should I flatten image before or after adjustments like "Brightness - Contrast" , Levels, Curves, Exposure etc.? THANKS

You don't have to flatten an image before using those tools if you add them from the bottom of the layers panel.

This will create a layer that effects eveything below it unless masked out.
