Floor plan adding textile flooring

New Here ,
May 03, 2020 May 03, 2020

I have a floor plan, and I want to add a textile-like marble as we see in a real house kitchen counter.

To clarify, let's say I have selected the counter on the floor plan. I saved it by the name of the counter, and then I paste the granite picture. After that, I loaded the counter selection and got to Fill>Content Aware. The problem is if I put the image (granite) there (within the choice), it is also attaching the layer with it. And if the picture is not there, it is filling up what the selected area contains and similarly if I transform the image to a lower the size, the same thing is happening.

Please show a screenshot of your image and layers panel to help explain your issue

From your description you don't need content aware fill, you just need a layer with the granite image and a layer mask in the shape of the counter top

This is the counter and the marble image is also attached to it. I dont have the picture of the layer panel for now but I can tell you that the marble image layer is below the floor plan layer and the background layer is transparent.

Hope that helps.

Sorry but I can't tell much from that screenshot that allows me to add to the comments I made previously, regarding the use of a layer mask

Adding to what Dave said, use your Print Screen key on your keyboard, then create a new document. Photoshop should automatically bring up the "Clipboard" as a preset. Simply press Create, then paste.

Other than that, you can try either a mask like Dave suggested or maybe clip the texture to the counter (provided it's solid without transparency). We really don't know unless we can see the images.
