I purchased a group of Flypaper Textures. I loaded the full res textures into my adobe library and they show up in my PS Librariy but when I open one of the textures they are the low res textures. What am I doing wrong?

PS 23.1.1

Thanks. I solved the isssue by loading the textures directly into PS rather than using the Adobe library to load the textures. The Adobe library changes the full res textures to thumbnails.

Thanks,

Well I had intended to help out Afterimage with getting his Flypaper textures working in the Adobe Library Panel, but not sure where he went off to.

Russell Brown introduced me to Flypaper via his "Texture Paper Extension" which is no longer around. I did like the craft that went into the samples so I bought several of their packs over the years. Sometimes I would wait for a sale and get them for $35 or less.

I appreciate that War Unicorn had made his textures free along with a tutorial, so it's a win that it helps out others.

As for Flypaper, I personally don't think of them as "pricey".  To this day, I  think they are well worth what I paid, even though I don't use textures a much as I used to.  But  they have  changed their offerings, so head over to https://flypapertextures.com/ if you'd like to know more.

I haven't heard much from Russell Brown since he went to Adobe.  How's he doing?

Ok thanks for reporting back 🙂  That part about loading directly into the Adobe Library is helpful. I load in Photoshop so I didn't know that.

Our James @War Unicorn has a nice collection of freely available textures.  They used to be linked from ProDesignTools but that took you to a thread in this forum.  I love it when we share content this way, and the Flypaper Textures are really pricey at $40 a set.

Thanks James.  You are a star.

Thank you, Trevor! I have to admit: I had a blast making these even it was pro gratis. I love messing with this kind of thing.

I'm not sure, but I have Flypaper collections in my Libraries and they show full resolution. Make sure you are adding the high-resolution files.  I will do this from the Libraries Panel in Photoshop.

First Create and name the collection, then double-click on the title to add the files.

Next navigate to the folder where you have your textures. You may have a folder of low-res textures, but I don't and it's an easy thing to select all of them and drag them into the empty "add files" space. So find the hi-res textures, select and drag them in. Depending on your connection, it might take a while to get them all in. Delete the old low-res library.

If you want the hires files in your project, you can drag the thumbnail into your open file as a Smart Object or Option + drag it to have it as a regular layer.
