Font showing up in Photoshop as rectangles

I downloaded and installed a font to my Windows 10 system called "CC ComicCrazy." When I try to use it on Photoshop 2024, it shows up in the application, but only as rectangles in the preview and when typed. This is despite the fact that it is the Roman version, and the Italics version of ComicCrazy, works normal, alongside other fonts I have downloaded onto my PC. Even on applications like Paint, the font opens and types as normal. I am at a loss as to why this would be happening exclusively to Photoshop.

Can you copy/paste letters from another app or from Character Map?

Sorry for the delay in responding.

I tried using Window's Character Map but it only pasted into Photoshop as the usual rectangles.

However, I learned that Photoshop has a Glyphs function, and opening the font in question there, and pressing the letters individually worked.

So, for now, I will use that for my typesetting needs, but I would still like a more efficient solution in the future.

The solution is probably to go back to the font creator and let them know that their font is broken in Photoshop.

Is it a Type 1 font? Those are no longer supported:

If that's the case, you could try an online type converter.

From what I looked online, Type 1 fonts have a different suffix to the usual .ttf, of which my "CC Comic Crazy" font is, so I do not believe it is a Type 1 font. On a different computer, I have an older version of Photoshop Elements, from around 2010 I think, and that also runs the font like normal.
