forced opening in ACR

When I attempt to open one or more previously saved JPG images from a file they open in ACR? I can not open more than one at a time?

Why?

How do I set ACR preferences to apply to all jpgs?

You select that option like I showed the top screen capture.

Set ACR file handling preference to process all supported jpeg files. The  use Photoshop menu File>Open... then in the File open dialog select all the Jpeg files you want to open in ACR the click Open.

In ACR selecy all the thumbnails and then click open
