Frame animation.

Hi!

how do you change the same layer in different ways Frame by frame? Ex: one frame a circle is on the left and the next frame the same circle is on the right.

as I have it when I change a layer it changes every frame. Thanks for your help!

There are two ways to achieve this.

You can do it with a single layer.  Place the layer with the move tool with the first frame selected. Then select the second frame, and move the layer to its new position.   I am not a fan of this method, as you have no reference of where stuff is supposed to be.

Better in my opinion, is to have a separate layer for each frame.  There is even an easy what to do this using what's call Step & Repeat.

Before you make the frame animation, create the object layer

Then copy the layer, and move it with Free Transform (Ctrl T, and nudge it with the cursor key

Then use Shift Ctrl Alt T to make as many layers as required.

Now start the frame animation, and use Make Frames from Layers

To finish, delete the first frame, which is just the background layer.

Then select all the frames (Click the first and Shift click the last) and turn the background layer on

Move the layer posion in the second frame.  After that if you want to can use Tween and have Photoshop animate that move.

You have more animation options using a video timeline you can save out animated Gif and Video animation from either type of timeline.
