Hello, dear PS-Community,
my daughter needs a tool for photo editing in scool. Since I have worked with PS for many years, I would like to download it on her Laptop. Is there an older, free version available? PS4 would be more than enough. Or do I need in any case a subscription?
Thank you!
I recommend getting her the photography plan for $9.99 a month. My daughter taught herself Photoshop at 12 yrs old and is a wiz at almost 16. She uses Photoshop and Illustrator all the time. She also steals my iPad to create stuff. Great skills to have in life.

Hi
Sorry there's no free version of Photoshop available, the Photography Plan would be best option if she only needs Photoshop or the Creative Cloud for students which includes all apps

There are no free versions of Photoshop, but Photoshop Elements may work for her. (One time cost of $99) If not, the Photograpy Plan Subscription is only about $10 a month.

Open source and free alternatives are:
Other free options:
These should be more than sufficient for your daughters general photo editing needs.
Also introduce her to Photopea, which is a web-only free Photoshop 'clone'. But it requires the user to work online in a browser. Nice for quick PSD editing on the road, though.
