Free Transform tool unexpectedly back to legacy transform

Since the update where SHIFT key was no longer needed to keep aspect ratio while using Free transform I got very used to it.

But suddenly my Free transform got back to those old days and I'm frustrated about it 😞

So now I need to keep SHITF key pressed while resizing an object.

I know there is a checkbox on preferences which says Use Legacy Free Transform but it is unchecked.

Not sure if there's a command to switch from one to another mode and maybe I pressed by mistake.

The only way I got it working again is by resseting preferences, but while working after some time it changes.

If anyone had experienced this and has the solution I'll really appreciate your support.

Simply click the Link icon to enable proportional transform and forget it. It is sticky between invocations of transform and launches of Photoshop.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:

Wait until Adobe fixes what they broke. The good news is that it works as expected in Photoshop (Beta). It's not advisable to use the beta version for production work, but that's the solution for me for now.

You can change this using Preferences/General. I'm guessing your preferences were reset when you upgraded:

Changing this does not currently change the behavior.
