I want to descale a 4k video into a 1080 doc, in photoshop 2024. I use free transform and photoshop says it must transform the clip into a smart object. I use control+0 to see the entire 4k frame but when I try to descale it ( to fit the 1080p doc) it doesn´t work, the free transformation rulers disappear and the clip is no longer a smart object.
Can you help me with this? I'm not sure if I was clear enough. What am I doing wrong?
If you are only trying to resize the clip, you could try changing the document size by going to Image > Image Size... and changing the dimensions with Resample selected. Photoshop will still turn the clip into a smart object.
Alternatively, you could use the Adobe Express Quick Action for Resize Video:
