I want to express my frustation that Adobe has started charging for generative AI credits in photoshop, when the AI is still getting it wrong so much of the time. Just now, it took me seven attempts/credits to fill in gaps in a wreath of flowers with similar flowers to the existing ones. What should have cost one credit, cost six because the AI kept coming up with either wildly different flowers, or just different shaped gaps. I tried various prompts, and also no prompt. This is not an isolated incident, it seems it rarely gets it right on the first try. And sometimes it puts in random things that are crazy and were not asked for, like a tomato or a foot. I also hear this from other photographers, so I know it's not just me having this issue. I feel that Adobe started charging for these credits too soon, and should have waited until the AI was giving more reliable results.

Hi Laura. There's definitely a learning curve with Generative Fill. I was having similar results to you by the sound of it, but when I started telling it what to do, it made a much better job of it. I am getting similar results from the Firefly engine in Photoshop, to Gemini Flash 2.5 / Nano Banana now. Gemini 2.5 had been doing a better job until recently. That might be me using better prompts though.
I guess they all want to be paid for, but I agree that it is annoying when the result is unusable. Perhaps if we were not charged some credits unless we used the Download button to get the higher res version.
Do you use Photoshop beta version? Terry White teased us with a video saying that Gemini 2.5 was coming to the beta version. He said two weeks, and posted the video two weeks ago. I'm still only seeing Firefly 1 and 3 options for Generative Fill`, and I am not seeing any options for Generate Image. Perhaps I need to watch Terry's video again.
I am sending you a PM.
