Functions not working

Some commends are getting stuck. I am using PS on Mac . For example, I am trying command D to deselect tools and it would not work at all. I tried to use the Help feature and it told me that"the feature is currently unavailable". The key shortcuts for some of the tools are not responding at all either.

Also, I tried to access photos from my Photo folder and it would only open a handful, If I tried to open from my Photo folder it did open it. I tried accessing photos from my Cloud storage and it would get stuck an tell me that I have no photos in cloud. 

I am extremely new and inexperienced in Adobe. i cannot tell if I am making a mistake or something is wrong. The above stuff though its happening, not my imagination!

 

Please help!!!

    The typical reason for this to be currently unavailable is that nothing is selected.
    Do you see marching ants?
    When you to to the Select menu, does Deselect work or is it greyed out?

  • When you are on the Home Screen what do you see when you select "Cloud documents" on the left?
