Question

Generate to replicate a section of the photo.

I am doing  photos with a lot of symetry and need to create (  via generate)  one side of the photo to have the same feel as the other. For example someone walking towards the camera on a road, I used AI to generate wild flowers on the left side of the road, picked my fave results out of the 3 proposed, now need to do the same on right side of the road, so the flowers are of the same type but perhaps arranged differently so to not look like a mirror image of left side. AI generate NEVER matches in any the left side, even  though the prompts are the same (ex: white wild flowers) so I can never get uniform results. they completely random and have no continuity.

I have played around with it a lot but can't seem to figure out how to accomplish above. Using prompts such as "match left side of photo" didn't work.  Can I select a portion  of image as a sample for Ai to replicate? Or any other way to accomplish my goals?

(I also tried duplicating left side layer, flipping it and placing it on right side and then blending it with a series of additional small section generate but what a PITA and results are not always useable.)

Please help 🙂

How about showing what you are talking about?

To me it seems obvious that the mirroring should be achieved with two instances of one Smart Object and modifications add atop one of the two.

Are you familiar with using low Selections as the basis of Generative Fill?

Photoshop (Beta)’s Generative Fill also offers the option to »Generate Similar«, not sure when this will be part of the regular version.
