Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.3.1 20231212.r.241 46eb480 x64

macOS 14.2.1 (23C71)

Step 1 to reproduce the issue: open an image document (e.g., png, jpg)

Step 2 to reproduce the issue: make random selection (locked or unlocked Background layer)

Step 3 to reproduce the issue: enter Quick Mask Mode (Q or Select menu)

Expected result: Generative Fill Contextual Bar remains visible

Actual result: Generative Fill Bar is no longer visible

The issue also occurs for me in the latest Beta version: Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.4.0 20231220.m.2439 ceb99ef x64

I'm confused. Quick Mask is a method to select and deselect. How would GF fit into making a selection?

Ah, I've just checked the video myself again, and you're quite right, it doesn't really apply. I was confused myself as one of the Adobe tips that popped up suggested you could start using GF with QMM. Maybe I got that wrong as well. Looks like it isn't a bug after all. I'm relieved and sorry for the false alarm.

No worries about a false alarm! It's always best to ask! 😊 And who knows what will happen in the future.
