I need to get rid of the cat and make it look like he's not on the couch. I used a magic wand selection and tried both ways, with the selection (ie: inverse and regular) using content aware fill. Both looked sloppy. Is there another way to do this? Thanks in advance.

I would use content aware fill then the clone tool

I can't seem to be able to post my image of using the Content Aware Fill. How did you do the cloning? Yours looks perfect, as usual. Cheers to Dave!

To clone I just added a new layer and set the clone tool to sample "Current and below". Then I just clicked Alt on different parts of the image using a brush set to around 75% hardness and brushed in parts of the blanket to try and match what would have been there. Once I was happy, I added another empty layer, set to multiply blend mode, and lightly brushed in some shadows with a low opacity soft brush and using one of the darker colours from the image.

Amy,
This reminds me of the saying: a house without a cat is just a house.
