Gif animation playback options other than "Repeat forever" or "Play only once"

I expect a "Not possible " for this, but still want to ask:

I have a 10 seconds Gif animation. Can I set the playback options to different settings other than "Repeat forever" or "Play only once".

Example: First, play the whole 10 seconds, after that repeat seconds 7 to 9 forever. Or, replay animation 5 times, than loop the first 3 seconds forever.

Is that kind of stuff doable?

The inventors of animated GIF 22 years ago added animation which allowed for

    - a repeat count of “forever”, ”once only” or 2 to 65535.

    - Each frame has a delay time of 0 to 6553.6 seconds.

And that’s it. So you can’t have selective looping.

Where is the repeat forever function?

That all depends.  Which app and version # are you using?

Technically it is possible with a work around.
You would have to select all the frames and copy/paste them how many times you want that loop, then repeat for the next loop and so on.
This said, it kind of defeats the purpose of gif. As it wasn't meant to be used for a full video. But for quick animations that can quickly be downloaded and viewed.
I recommend that you do this process in After Effects and use a format designed for full video's.
Sorry we could be of more help, but yeah the options they mentioned above are all gif was designed for.

Right.  What you want is not possible with GIF.
