Gif only once not applied

So when I Safe for Web and choose Play only Once, after uploading it loops forever. Also, when I choose Play forever, the normal Windows Image Player plays only Once. Is that command somewhere in the Metadata of the files just beeing ignored by all players and websites?

The looping setting should be embedded into the gif.

Hi again. I just realised the link I gave was for Animate CC discussion rather than Photoshop. If you can upload a gif that you're having problems with, I can look at it and let you know if it works differently for me.

The gif file format does contain all the information. Web browsers follow as of my experience the animation settings.
