Gifs for Emails Created in Photoshop

Hello,

I create custom emails in Photoshop with slices that are then uploaded to email marketing sites like MailChimp. The process has worked well but I would love to create an animation/gif at the top of the email--just an animation that makes our logo blink. I know how to create gifs, but I don't know how to create them within a larger email and then export it so the animation still works.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Which e-mail application do you create your html e-mail with?

I create it in Photoshop, Export for Web, then upload it as a zipped file (HTML file and the image folder) to MailChimp.

Howdy! Email marketer here!

What email client are you viewing your email in? Some applications such as Outlook do not support animated gifs.

If viewing in outlook, you will be shown the first slide of your animation and that is it. You can get by this by using a "fall back image". See https://www.emailonacid.com/blog/article/email-development/four-interactive-email-fallback-strategies

If you are using in outlook, be sure and view your email on the web to confirm your .gif file is working properly.
