Glitter Pattern Gradient / Fade

I have a gold glitter patter that I am trying to turn into a gradient or fade.

I am attempting to have the glitter patter fade into less and less glitter...

It's an all over gold glitter image .. how do I fade part of it or turn it into a gradient where the glitter fades away?

In a "Fade to anything" approach, Here's a method that works.  Use Layer Style to fade the shadows.  Linear Light for the layer mode.   Add some noise to the mask and apply the gradient to the mask in Multiply mode.

That looks a bit like a gradient with Blend Mode Dissolve.

Additional to Grant H’s advice you might use Blend if-settings.

You can mask the layer with a white/black gradient.
