GPS data slows PS CS6

I have just noticed a strange correlation; when I work on a file which contains GPS data, it quickly brings PS CS6 to a crawl, for example the clone-stamp tool becomes very slow.  I have to continually clear the Prefs file in Windows, but things quickly slow down again.  This does not occur with files that don't have any GPS data embedded.  Why would this be, and how to I remedy it?
I'm using a very fast Windows10 computer with 64GB Ram.

Have  you tried resetting CS6 tools,  Your  Photoshop preferences also start PS with the shift key held and skip loading your optional plug-ins you seem to have quite a few installed. See if the performance problem is not caused by a plug-in. Also your installed  display device driver is a year old Nvidia release a new one this week for your 960.

OK, so I updated the Nvidia driver, and so far, it seems to have resolved the problem.  But does it make sense that this older driver would cause PS to choke ONLY on files with GPS data?

Can you post an example file with gps data you have a performance problem with.  My my machine only has 40GB of ram and slow 2GHZ processors I did not see problems like that in cs6.  I have the Creative cloud CS6 version 13.1.2 still installed.

Here's a small file. It generally takes a few minutes of editing for things to slow down.
