Question

GPU Out or Memory Error when Using Photoshop 2024

I have been using Photoshop 2024 on my Desktop for almost 2 years and things were working fine. I have not added any new hardware or software except for the usual updates for Window 11 and Adobe. However, in the last 3 days, whenever I use CameraRAW (in particular, the denoise), the Remove Tool or Generative fill in Photoshop, I will encounter a GPU out fo memory error and the application will hang and trys to restart.

I have tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstall, even tried using another Graphics Card but no success. I even turned of the GPU in Photoshop and will get a ... encountered GPU error message instead.

I would greatly appreciate some assistance in this matter. Thanks.

@Wai Munn, have you tried this yet? In Photoshop, go to Preferences > Image Processing > Enhance Detail Processing and change the method. If you have it set to Faster, switch to More stable. Then, restart Photoshop to see if that helps.

Had to do a clean installation of Windows before installing Photoshop 2024
again to fix the problem.

...and in addition to system info, it could be interesting to see this when the error occurs:

@Wai Munn can you post your Photoshop system info, in Photoshop go to Help > System Info, hit the copy button and paste the entire thing into this thread

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
