can I ask the community about a choice I have.

If anyone has some real data about if a GPU with 16GB of GDDR will perfom better on Photoshop rather than one with 8GB of GDDR

I am in the process of upgrading the graphic card for our workstation

thanks for your help if you can offer your opinion

the 8GB GPU is more than enough for Photoshop, If you use adobe Premier, the 16GB is better.

Real data is going to be subjective, I think. Typically, Photoshop will use everything you can throw at it. I run great with 6GB GDDR6 [70W]. You can look up benchmarking rates to find your cards and compare them. Also, keep in mind that any super performance improvement you're expecting might only be noticeable with a Gaming driver and depending on the game's design and features. Photoshop runs better with the Studio driver. What's the make? NVIDIA? You might not see any performance improvement with 16GB, but you'll certainly pay more. You'll get more opinions here, that's for sure!  What are you looking for? What are you experiencing in Photoshop with the system you have now that you want to improve? What kind of work product do you produce on a regular basis?

thanks for the reply, we use the Nvidia studio drivers all the time and we only have photoshop on our workstations. Most of the benchmarking are games related, especially for the 4000 series GPUs. I think the responses I have got already suggest that 8GB is more than enough so we will same some money over the 16gb models......maybe in the distant future it might be the next upgrade

thanks for your help

You're welcome! Sounds like a good plan to go with the 8GB!
