Gradient Effect

Hello,

I am a web designer and I was working with a graphic designer who is now on holiday and I was urgently needing to replicate some of the work he provided.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the effects that have been applied to the image below to achieve the finished image underneath it, with the gradient.

I know there has been a gradient applied to it, but anything else? Greyscaled? If anyone could help me out here, it would be greatly appreciated!

The gradient appears just to be a standard gradient, but the layer's blend mode is most likely set to multiply.

Brilliant thanks for your help. Any idea what gradient has been applied? The options in photoshop for creating a gradient are different from what I am used to.

I just sampled the color from your image, trying to pick from the lightest areas in the original image, but still getting the ends of the gradient.
