Gradient start and endpoints not showing

Community Beginner ,
Sep 16, 2024 Sep 16, 2024

Hello, new to photoshop. When I started using it, I'd make a gradient and a starting circle would show along with a line and then a small endpoint circle. Using these I could move the mid (radial gradient) and the end point to resize but now they are not showing at all when I create it. I've tried resetting the tool.
Unsure if this is a but on 25.12 or I've accidentally clicked something.

In the Option bar for the Gradient, be sure that the drop-down at the left side is set to Gradient, not Classic Gradient.

Check if View > Extras is on, or press Ctrl/Cmd + H

Can you upload a screenshot or record a video of the screen with all panels visible to show the issue as well?

Thanks, here you are. Its also the same if I was for example doing a brightness/contrast adjustment layer and wanted a gradient mask, not showing the endpoints

I am also having this exact same problem. "Gradient" is selected (as opposed to "Classic Gradient") and "Extras" are checked.

Same problem here, still the same on 26.3.

I have a different MacBook on which the Gradients work fine, so I am confused as to what is causing  this, if I find an answer I'll post back here as well....

It's only an idea. Check if your GPU support is enabled and if you have installed the recent version of the graphic device driver. If you have installed a NVidia card make sure the you have installed the Studio version of the driver and not the Game Ready version.

You can alos try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps described here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

It's recommended to backup your settings before resetting the preferences.

See here:  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#backup-photoshop-preferences
