Gradient Tool disappears on screen

Community Beginner ,
Nov 06, 2023 Nov 06, 2023

So guys ... when I use the new Gradient Tool in Photoshop , the circle (the tool) does not stay on my screen ( as it does in all the tutorials I have seen). As soon as I let go of the pen / mouse it disappears - and comes back when I use the pen again, but that makes it very difficult to work with .

PS . It works in Beta, but not in the "normal" app.

Happy to hear from you.

1. Photoshop - latest update

2. Windows 11

3. I have tried to reload Ps

Thank you! I had this same problem and view/extras solved it. Yay!

Not using Windows but sounds like a local issue. Try resetting the tool by context-clicking the icon in the Options bar and choosing Reset Tool (though there's no settings for overlay, it may work!). Likewise, though no settings for overlay, worth a try launching with default preferencess/settings.

Hmmm...I have just had a deja vue discussing something similar with Stephen Marsh years and years ago.
