Gradient tool in Photoshop Freezes the program

My gradient tool opens as usual, but if I try to edit the gradient by clicking on it brings an empty dialog box of the Gradient Editor, and freezes Photoshop. This happens in all instances of the tool such as in the effects and so on.

I've cleared my preferences and updated CS6.

Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

I know you stated toy cleared your Preferences Can you terminate Photoshop and Delete your CS6 Preferences folder or the gradients.psp file in it.  You can simply rename the folder so you will not loose anything. When you start CS6 it will create a new folder  with Adobe Defaults.  The gradient editor should  work it does on my Englisg version anyway.

That look like CC 2015 with update CS6 is version 13.0.6 Mac perpetual 13.0.1.3 Windows perpetual or 13.1.2 subscription.

I do not know where your problem is. You wrote you were using CS6.   However your now using cc 2015 why not install cc 2015.5 and cc 2017  and  try the newer versions. Did you reset  cc 2015 preferences?

What OS are you using? Did your CS6 gradient tool work in the past? Has anything on you system been updated lately?

I install Windows 10 Preview 15031 a couple days ago and it still works in it.

Was anything update yesterday like your Display adapter device driver?  If not make sur you CS6 preferences were indeed reset. Did you get the delete preferences dialog when you used shift+ctrl+alt when you started PS???

That Dialog windows frame does not look like a windows 10 CS6 window frame you sure you have cs6.
