Gradient tool

Community Beginner ,

Hello, I've been a user since 1991. The latest Beta version of PS is pretty amazing. My one frustration is the new gradient tool. In the next iteration of PS, would it be possible to have both the new gradient tool and the legacy version to choose from?

Thanks!

Hi @kirkdou

It's possible now, in both the beta and released versions of Photoshop. In the options bar, select "Classic Gradient".

Saddly I've tried that. Doesn't switch to the legacy gradient. Still vector, and you can't apply multiple gradients to the layer. Each gradient you apply replaces the previous one. I appreciate your help though.

Ha! No. I was choosing "Classic" from the "Method" drop down.

Now I see there's a drop down to the far left for "Classic" as well. That one actually does give you the legacy verion! Thank you!

Ah, thanks Signfeld!. I was using the Classic mode, but looked and found the second place you mentioned and that did the trick. Vastly relieved. I think they should make that "Classic Mode: much easier to find and less confusing, but maybe they will get it right on the actual release.
