guides dont work in photoshop

When I try to drag a guide from the ruler, it won't show up on my document.  I can add a guide using the View>New Guide way. But then when I try to drag that guide to a new position, it automatically deletes it.  Any ideas on what is happening?  (I'm using the current CC version of Photoshop)

Hi!

Sorry to hear that you are having this issue! Have you tried resetting your preferences? If you have not, here is a link that will help you:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

Also, are you using a Mac or Windows machine?  And you mentioned that you are on the latest version--is that 21.1.3?

Let us know if that fixes the problem or if it still persists.

I still have this problem. Can create via New Guide line, but when dragging the line is visible and dissappears when releasing the mouse. I have Adobe Photoshop Version: 24.7.0 20230719.r.643 efe3886 x64 on Windows 11 and the Beta (Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.0.0 20230801.m.2265 3a00623 x64) on the same machine.
They both have this problem. Turning of Graphic Processor and resetting the Settings didn't help.

I think I found the solution, I had the same problem too. I tried Ctrl + R, and it worked.

I did reset my preferences.....it worked this time.  However, I've done that before and it didn't work.  For some reason this time it did.  Good luck.

I am using windows.  I reset my preferences and that did fix it.  Now I get to redo all my custom settings.  😐
