I've come across a lot of great people on this forum and, with only 7 days to go (as any of you with children will be constantly reminded ) I'd like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a happy and prosperous 2017.

And a merry Christmas from down under, where we have to cope with scorching hot sunshine while loading up the BBQ on the beach. On the plus side, our Matinis are always shaken, and we call four vehicles a traffic jam, (outside of Auckland at least). I'll be picking my wife up from the airport in two hours, and she has her first Christmas off work in years.
As Dave said, there are lots of lovely, talented people on this forum, and I am pleased to call some of you my friends.
Woah!!! After telling you about our sunshine, I had to check on how you guys are faring, and this is what Benjamin is dealing with. Wrap up and stay safe.

You're cruel, Trevor...cruel..
I went out to shovel snow this morning and by the time I was done, my beard was completely covered with frost. Yep, looked just like good ol' St. Nick.
Here's a view of our winter wonderland:

Benjamin, I'm feeling really bad about our nice weather, because our TV news covered the severe weather in parts of America tonight. We heard about thousands of flights being cancelled, and saw video of multiple vehicle pile ups on your roads. I sincerely hope that no one we know has been badly affected.
You (Benjamin) will be looking at -10°C from what I can see, and I imagine Barbara will be snowed in. You guys take care.

Christmas is high season for winter storms up here in Western Norway. This is a couple of years ago, the day after Christmas day when the worst had passed. But we get something like this around almost every Christmas:

Ouch - that looks expensive !!!
I had a walk down one of our costal towns, Whitby, the other day. It was gray , gray and gray ! About 1.5 stops between the brightest thing you could see and the darkest . Capturing dynamic range was not an issue - seeing some was !
All the very best

Yeah, this was a bit like that. I remember being very concerned about salt spray on the equipment, the air was filled with it and you can see the drops on the lens.
Anyway, Christmas comes in all shapes around the world. Have a peaceful holiday, everyone!
