hardware requirements

Currently I am using an i3-4330 3.50 GHz system with 16 GB of RAM. Windows 10, only traditional HDD.

Lightroom is running slowly, but works. However Photoshop is almost not usable, every click takes 10 seconds.

I am thinking to upgrade to an i7-11700 4.9 GHz system with 64 GB RAM and Windows 11, with both SSD and nomal HDD.

Will this be enough for running both LR and PS smoothly? Or a better system is necessary?

Please advice.

Please don`t advice using a Mac, I want to use a PC.

Hi, those specs are good, the graphic card is important too, I'd recommend a recent one with plenty of VRAM. (way more than the 1.5GB minimum listed at: https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html  )

Thanks, I will check this. I think the system has 4 GB video RAM.

Be careful - systems with SSD are often sold with an SSD too small for practical design use, much smaller than older hard disk. Don't get less than 1TB. A box that can be extended with extra hard disks is a bonus, but don't assume you can get away with a small internal SSD with this.
