Question

Have Neural Filters Been Abandoned?

Several have been disabled for a while (i.e., Photo Restoration)
Nothing is changing with the ones marked as beta
Does it seem as if they may have stopped development on these?

I had same issue with Beta 24.2, nothing I did would fix it. I downloaded rhe older beta version 24.1 and it works fine except for an annoying brown box in upper right hand corner stating I shoukd update to the newer beta version. I cant get rid of the box but it doesn't interfere with editing. Mac Studio M1Max 64GB unified memory, 32 core GPU.

It kinda feels like its been abandoned. I've been checking for solutions, but most of what I've been seeing is "restart", "redownload", and "delete the folder with the filter in it". I've tried all of that to no success, and it seems like only a few are having much luck. I kind of wonder if the Adobe team just doesn't know what's causing the issue?

The fact that its working here and not on yours tends to point to something on your setup.

When you uninstall via the Creative Cloud app, did you delete the preferences as well?

If not, I would try it again and remove the preferences then reinstall.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out.

Which version of Photoshop and macOS are you using? What are the filters that show disabled?

  1. Restart Photoshop and try again
  2. Download the filter models again
    • Quit Photoshop, delete or rename the following folder, Start Photoshop and try again:
      • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP/PluginsStorage/
        PHSP/24/Internal/com.adobe.nfp.gallery/PluginData

Instructions here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/neural-filters-feedback.html

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Ranjisha

Mac PS Beta
My machine is restarted several times a week
 (i.e., Photo Restoration)
I deleted those folders for both the regular and beta version
Still disabled in Beta as it has been a long time
It looks to be working in the regular version

My Neural Filters work in PS Beta, Mac OS 12.5.1 on an M1 Mac. Keep in mind this is beta software, ie a work in progress.

What Mac OS and Mac version are you running?
