Having issues stretching evenly

Everytime I try to stretch my text, it does not stretch even and distorts towards the bottom. I'm even holding down shift when doing so and the same thing still happens. Anyone know how to fix it? Screen Shot 2023-05-01 at 9.37.27 PM.png
