HELP _ CLONE STAMP

Hello

Desperate for help...

I have two images - one with near focus, the second image background focus - I want to bring say the background focus part into the near focus image - however when I select the clone stamp it wants to copy the entire layer rather than just a particular area - if that makes sense?

I have tried reseting tool and resting all tools but it hasn't worked...

I have no idea what I have done and need to get this resolved ASAP -    its like focus stacking but rather than individual area to clone, it copies the entire layer what do I need to do to fix this so that it only copyies the are I want it to ????

Thank you from a desperate man who is tearing his hair out trying to fix it

As mentioned before I recommend working with Layer Masks.

Hi

What version of Photoshop are you using, can you post a screenshot with all the pertinent panels opened to highlight the issue

Yeah, I guess near-identical-comtent, near-simultaneous posts happen again and again on these Fora  …

I wonder if the OP’s issue might just be about the display caused by an unchecked »Clipped«-setting in the Clone Source Panel.

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, Clone Source, …) visible?

Might it not make more sense to use the Layers as are and apply a Layer Mask to the top one and paint on that?
