Help Please - Transparent background showing as white since upgrading to 21.1.2

I hope someone can help me.  I upgraded to 21.1.2 this evening and now no matter what I do, I always have a white screen when I create a document even when creating a document with a transparent background.  When I try to type, draw with a brush, etc., nothing shows up on my screen, only the white.  If I type something in black, I can see the type layer in the layers panel but the area I am working in is still white.  I have not changed any settings nor any of the defaults, only upgraded to the new version.

Also, if I open a picture to edit and add a layer, it automatically turns the working space white and even if I delete the layer, my working space stays white.  Please see the pictures below.

Thank you so much in advance for any assistance you can provide!

Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences (Photoshop > Preferences > Performance > Graphic Processor Settings) and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far?

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

In the future please post screenshots etc. on this Forum directly.

Yes, that did solve the problem, thank you!  I did post screen shots, I'm sorry it was my first time posting so I'm not sure if I did it incorrectly.  Thanks so very much for your help and have a nice day 🙂

You’re welcome.

Unfortunately turning off »Use Graphics Processor« is no proper solution as it invalidates GPU dependent features (like the Rotate View Tool and some Filter acceleration for example) but it indicates problems with the GPU driver or the OS.

You did not post the screenshots incorrectly, I just find it more convenient to get an immediate preview on the Forum page without downloading the files first.
