Help with the sadistic keyboard shortcut file

Can someone help? Over the years, I seem to create new keyboard shortcut files. I put my name/ year.

Why do I do this? I don't know, but PS, seems to have 3 places to save new keyboard shortcuts, and it get very confusing in that box.

I now have 4 versions, and I don't know where t hey are on the hardrive and I don't even know which is the current right one.

To make matters worse, when I go to PS 2018 settings, I only see keyboard shortcuts primary, and keyboard shortcut not primary. What the  heck are these? And where are the descritive 4 I've made over the years.

The reason for all this is I want to delete the clutter and then get the best one from my desktop to my laptop as Adobe does not have an intuitive easy way in the cloud yet to synchronize all this.

I'm sure some Adobe engineer there sits in a dark room with a smile on his face..  Or some explanation for the madness of this.

    Hi Larry4545,

This help document has most of the need-to-know about customizing keyboard shortcuts including how to view the shortcuts you have established and how to delete a set of shortcuts: Customize keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop.

As for where shortcuts live on your hard drive, if you're on Windows, I believe they're in the Library (not sure as I'm not a Windows user). You can try navigating to hdd/users (your username)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop (version)/Presets/Keyboard Shortcuts and look for the .kys file(s).

Let us know if any of that is helpful.

Check out this discussion thread: There's still no way to load keyboard shortcuts in CC?It discusses exporting/importing keyboard shortcuts as well as the location on Mac.

Thanks Delphi, that was interesting. It did not help at all, but nice to see, confirmed the sadistic madness of the software engineers.

Hoping someone inside the monopoly or out can jump in and help.
