Help with workspace holding where windows set & font size set to smaller as pref.

Need help please in photoshope 2023. 1. Set up workspace like I like but if I resize background, windows don't go with. Want workspace with windows attached to background so when move R side of background over... windows go with it (layer, color, character, paragraph)

2. Want to set font size to 18 point when open new or existing file. It keeps going huge size and not holding.

Hi, as you move panels, and come close to the edge of the interface, a blue highlitght lets you know that the panel will stick there. see: https://www.photoshopessentials.com/basics/managing-panels-photoshop-cc/

Maybe you want the Documents window(s) docked instead of floating like in your screenshots.

With a document open go to Window>Arrange>Consolidate All to Tabs.

If that's what you want, then you can always have your files open as tabs by going to

Adobe Photoshop 2023>Settings>Workspace>Open Documents as Tabs

I enlarged the dpi to 250. Will these work or do I need to redo? = 10" wide.

Ann, I am sorry to be a pain, but the dpi doesn't make any difference. We are only interested in the size in pixels. I'm a Windows user so don't know how you take a screen shot on a Mac. On Windows we usually press the Print Screen key, that copies the screen to the clipboard.

My main screen is 2560 x 1440 pixels. The active part of your upload is 303 x 360 pixels and way to burred to have the first clue what we are looking at.

We also need to see the Entire workspace with layers panel visible. Something like this

Try and describe your issue again, with as much detail as you can. If English is not your first language, use your own language and we'll use the translate function. The more you tell us, the better the chance of a useful answer for you.

I am now struggling to understand your issue. You need to maximise the Photoshop window so it fills the screen, and then arrange the panels, and save as a custom workspace. If you only have one screen, then the default function key shortcuts might be useful as they let you quickly toggle the most used panels on and off.

Something like this might work. The panels (Yellow highlight) are taking up a lot of screen space, but they can all be toggled on and off with function keys. The Narrow strip (cyan highlight) are minimized minor panels. You click to expand (like the Character panel below) and click again to minimize. This keeps them out of the way when not in use, but makes them much faster to access than using the Window menu. The toolbar (green highlight) is double row with most of the tools I use in their own space so you don't need to use the fly-outs to access them. It takes up very little extra space, and is a significant time saver.

When you have everything arranged, save it as a custom workspace, and check the Shortcuts, Toolbars and Menus which will save them with the workspace.

I actually use three screens so use the Function keys to trigger simple Actions that set and reset my workspaces. This is super useful as we tend to move panels about for working convenience and screen shots, and it is amazing to be able to make everything tidy again by pressing a single key.

This is 5680 pixels wide (I only use 16:10 monitors) and having all those panels always available is a huge boon to your workflow.

I hope we are getting close to having you sorted out, as this thread has been a bit of chore. 😞

I have a tech guy coming beginning week...

I have system settings (not prefs)
and can't find Align UL according to OS settings
I reset workspace but still the palettes are not linked (attached) to R
side of workspace.

Thanks for providing the screen shots, but unfortunately, they are no help because they are too small to see what is going on. You need to provide full resolution screen shots of your entire workspace showing layers panel and anything else relevant to your issue.

Still need help please. Got this "Align UL according to OS settings"? = we can find it. Don't know what it means.

How do I turn off zoom tool. When use magnifying glas and want to enlarge only the area I am selecting... it zooms way up to 3000%. Help.

Is there any way to change save as to saving as jpg or psd, etc... insted of having to save as copy.

Hi, it looks like you are coming from an old version, select the Zoom tool, and, in the Option bar on top, uncheck Scrubby zoom, this way, you can marquee the area that you want to zoom into.
