I am not able to access or set the toolbar extras for use on my toolbar. When I click on the side menu the extras don't show up like they used to. When I click to open the menu settings via the ... it does not work.
When I open the Edit/Toolbars menu (my only access), it shows no tools to add from the right to the left, and the 'turn off' toolbar options is NOT clicked. Yet, when I click on my toolbar options, the extras do not show up.

I'm on MacOS Ventura 13.2.1 and using Photoshop 24.2 release. Help!!

Hi @dorothy108 have you tried checking "Restore Defaults" from Edit/Toolbars?

If that does not address Id try resetting your Photoshop preferences under Preferences/General - click the reset button and relaunch PS.

Yes, already did that process. So I can't help feeling it is a bug with Mac installs. Any other ideas? Should I roll back to an older version?

Hi @dorothy108 I am on the same setup as you without this issue - looking at your tool bar you are showing all tools so I'm not sure what you are missing?

When I'm back in the app working on an image, what is not working is that when I click on the sidebar toolbar options, usually there's a sort of pop-out of the other options, or extras, for that tool. That is not opening so for instance, I have no way to access the paintbucket option under the gradient toolbar option. And when I click on the ... at the bottom of the toolbar for settings, nothing happens for a few seconds, but when it does finally open, it just says toolbar options and does not show the full menu where I can pick my options. I have to go in via the main menu at the top to access the toolbar settings. Does this make sense? I have no way to access my toolbar extras from the left hand tool bar options. Nothing is opening when I click on the toolbar options other than the one that is showing.

So when you click and hold on the gradient tool - you don't see the flyout with the other tools?

Try resizing your workspace window and move it in a little from the left edge. What could be happening is your tools are flying out to the left and you arent seeing them.

There is no flyout except the tutorial flyout for the tool that is showing (ie the gradient tool, and not the other flyout options). And when I click on the Edit Toolbar ... at the bottom, I get a little flyout that says Edit Toolbar but nothing will click through or allow me to go to Edit Settings.
I don't use PS full screen, if that is what you mean by decrease the workspace. I expanded the toolbar so it is two vertical rows and there are still now flyouts with extra tools. Strange....

@dorothy108

Try right-clicking a tool with a triangle (instead of press and hold). Does that show the other tools?

Sadly, right clicking does not show any flyout either. At least the hover/click shows the tutorial flyout.

Hi @dorothy108 sorry to hear this.  Have you tried updating to Ps 24.3, does the issue persist?

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Restore your preferences using this manual method:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
