Anyone else having an issue with Photoshop hiding an action window for saving a document so all you can do is hit enter and save it rather than viewing the window and choosing to not save it? It's often when multiple documents are open. Super annoying. Also, sometimes seem to create a situation where there's no way to get out of it and you have to just force quit the whole thing. This is different from a crash, it's simply a window asking for a command that is hidden and can't be accessed so there's no way to move forward.

Do you have two monitors? (Or have you ever?) The dialog may be in the other monitor.

Yes, I have 2 monitors but No, the dialogue box is not visible on either monitor. My guess is that it's hidden behind open documents (on either monitor) but there is no way to move those documents or bring the dialog box to the forefront, so the only way out is by hitting enter which forces a save whether I want to save the document or not. And occasionally even that won't do it and I have to force quit. Not cool. Adding that this usually follows a command w to close a doc. Really seems to be a matter of the dialog box opening behind documents rather than in front.

1. Do you have the Application Frame (Window menu) on or off ? Either way, try toggling it to see if that solves the issue.
2. Are you working with tabbed or floating documents? If they are floating, try using tabbed documents
Preferences > Workspace > Open Documents as Tabs
If none of this works, you might consider resetting preferences.

Scroll down to the sections on "Backup preferences" and "Reset Photoshop preferences".
If you reset preferences manually by renaming the file, you can restore your original preferences if needed.

Thanks, I'll try these suggestions. Tabbed windows won't work for me because I need to be doing side by side comparisons often, but not tiled -- want to see the whole document and could be switching between a few documents. But I'll try the rest 🙂 Will reply with an update.

You don't have to keep tabbed documents if you prefer floating — just try it long enough to see if the dialog issue still occurs (or not).
