Home screen not appearing in recent Photoshop 23.3.2 update?

In the past few updates I cannot get the HOME SCREEN to appear (showing recent files opened) even though the "auto-show home screen" is checked in Preferences/General. When the interface first opens I see a brief ghosting of it but then goes blank and I either have to do a File/Open Recent or double click from File Explorer..... HELP!

Try resetting your Photoshop preferences

If that doesn't help, try enabling this option in preferences and restarting Photoshop
