Horizontal vs Vertical brush sorting in brush panel

Hello,

This is my first post here, but I have been using Photoshop for more than 15 years and im writing here about something that im not sure a lot of people mentionned about your new photoshop brush panel.

Im using photoshop CC 2019 right now, but I was using CC 2015 before.

Here is some feedback about the new brush panel, most of it is pretty basic, but makes it really frustrating for me to use.

Moving brush in the panel by accident while selecting them.

- This could easily be fixed if you added a lock option, somewhere in the preference. ( this wasnt an issue before, you could only resort your brushes in the preset manager ). Happens way too often when you are focused on work and speed painting.

Brushes are now sorted horizontally (rows) in the brush panel and not vertically (columns), like in the old brush panel, impossible to replace them like I used to ( using the brush stroke preview ).

- As someone who paints in photshop , I use hundreds of brushes, and I have been using the same set and optimizing it for the longest time. I got used to where they were placed in the panel, and it became second nature to select them. Not sure why you thought changing that was a good idea, but you should add an option for the sorting preference of  the brushes, with your current system its impossible to create columns of brushes since you mess them up as you move them

If anyone knows if there is some way to modify these things in CC2019 plz let me know.

Hope you consider these things for your next updates, in the meantime i'll stick to 2015.

Cheers

I have the same dilemma. Is there a way for the brush tips to be in columns instead of rows? I find the columns much easier to use in speedily finding the tips I need.

Hi

Do you mean like this?

If so, use the slider at the bottom in conjunction with the options shown. If you mean something different please explain further

Hey Dave, thanks for the reply, that is not what I meant. I added an attachement to my original post.
