You can try reverting to the legacy new document interface in preferences, then changing it back again to see if this corrects things.

Backup your actions, brushes and other presets and reset your app preferences.

Which of the two suggestions worked?!

Toggling between legacy/new interface options... Or resetting preferences?

I personally went for resetting preferences

I believe I gave "New to legacy to New" a crack before but when reverting back from legacy I was back in the same pickle
