How Can I Change Zoom and Scroll Modifiers in Photoshop?

Hey everyone,

I've been using Ctrl + Mouse Scroll to zoom in and out, and Shift + Mouse Scroll to scroll horizontally across all my other software. However, in Photoshop, the default behavior is Alt + Mouse Scroll for zooming and Ctrl + Mouse Scroll for horizontal scrolling. This is really messing with my workflow.

I tried using a third-party software (AutoHotkey) to remap these actions in Windows, but I couldn't fully suppress the original behavior in Photoshop. The original shortcuts are still being triggered alongside my remaps, which makes it unusable.

Is there a way to change these modifier keys directly in Photoshop? Or any other solution that could help me achieve this?

Thanks.

You could try to open Prefs > Tools and uncheck the mouse scroll.

On Mac then you can scroll horizontally and vertically and only zoom in and out with Alt

It should be similar on PC with Ctrl.
